The Opportunity

The Indiana Department of Transportation required secure storage for its Brookville Road Subdistrict Office on the southeast side of Indianapolis, IN.  The area to be secured was a covered, open-air truck bay located near the facility’s road salt distribution building.

The Solution  

Facilities Field Administrator Chris Wren turned to SpaceGuard to supply the material for this project as INDOT has relied on SpaceGuard previously to provide secure storage for other area facilities.  SpaceGuard partnered with Brian Doub of Stac Material Handling, a material handling & industrial equipment distributor, to meet with Chris at the Brookville facility to determine the best product for this application.  Brian, along with SpaceGuard inside sales lead Matt Sipe, recommended SG2000 versatile mesh enclosures constructed with 10-gauge woven wire welded into a full steel frame.  The wire mesh, along with the clean, durable gray finish allows for easy visibility into the secured area.  With SG2000’s fully framed panels & doors installed through 2” X 2”, 14-gauge steel posts, installation was efficient.  Full height posts were anchored directly to the concrete, extending to the underside of the steel covering structure providing complete security of the area.  Due to the open-air location, the enclosure was finished using a thermoplastic powder coat that is designed to protect the material against the various elements as well from abrasions from the salt located at the facility.  Once installed, Chris Wren voiced his satisfaction, “I am very pleased with the product and the service provided on this project.  Another job well done.”

The Opportunity: 

A world-wide freight corporation, with divisions in small package, LTL and Dedicated services, required a secure storage and distribution enclosure for equipment at its distribution warehousing facility located in Ellenwood, Georgia. 

The Solution: 

Representatives from the Ellenwood facility contacted Atlanta Commercial Fence Company, a local designer and installer of Residential, Commercial, Recreational and Field fencing, to help them source a secure storage product to meet their needs.  The customer requested SpaceGuard’s SG2000 versatile mesh enclosures constructed with 10-gauge triple-crimpled woven wire securely welded to a full steel frame.  The wire mesh allows full visibility of the equipment allowing for inventory control.  With SG2000’s fully framed panels & doors installing through 2” X 2”, 14-gauge steel posts, installation was efficient as compared to vertical based wire partition products on the market.  Consideration was given to the customer’s need to integrate distribution stations within the enclosure.  Two sliding service windows, installed within framed panels, were included to provide these access points. Installer, Darrell Wallace, commented, “I would recommend for any type of security storage.  Easily assembled and very durable.”

The Opportunity:

A creator of innovative dietary supplements recently opened its new headquarters in Orlando, FL to expand its production capabilities.  In addition to manufacturing operations, the facility also houses the packaging of its various nutritional supplements for international distribution.  Both the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the company’s own internal control processes require visible, secure storage of its dietary labels until placed on the product.

The Solution:

Representatives from the Orlando facility contacted Curlin Inc., a local integrator of Material Handling Systems and Solutions, to help them source a secure storage product to meet their needs.   Under Curlin’s recommendation, the customer chose SpaceGuard’s Wire Mesh Storage Lockers constructed with 10-gauge triple-crimped woven wire securely welded to a full steel frame.  The wire mesh along with the bright white finish of its factory applied powder coat allow for full visibility of the secured labels allowing for inventory control.  Since each SpaceGuard Storage Locker consists of fully framed panels and no posts, the product went up much quicker than other wire locker products on the market.  Consideration was given to the customer’s need to integrate a system to organize the labels within each unit.  The angle-framed panels allowed for easy attachment of a pegboard wall storage system internally, sandwich bolting them through the wire mesh. Installer, Stan Ellertson, commented,"the locker install went smoothly."

In our continuous pursuit of providing high quality, innovative safety and secure storage products, SpaceGuard is introducing a new post plug for its SG2000 versatile mesh enclosures.  The new plugs are durable and install flush to the post.  Constructed with a deep well shaft and locking fingers, the new plugs insure a gripped, tight fit.  New plugs are currently shipping with all SG2000 orders.
