Controlled Access Locks for Wire Partitions - Part 2

26. October 2010 11:53

Are you interested in using the mortise-style cylinder lock designed for SG2000 wire partitions, but prefer to integrate it with electronic controlled access used elsewhere in your facility?  Are you in the process of retrofitting existing security cage material to card readers or other form of controlled access?

SpaceGuard is pleased to introduce another design option for controlled access into our wire mesh enclosures: the flush mounted electric strike for SG2000 hinged doors.  The electric strike works together with the standard cylinder locks used on our wire partitions.  The electric strike does not require a special lock receiver, but rather is recessed in the 2" square tube posts used in the design of our SG2000 woven, welded, and expanded metal security cages.

The strike operates on 24 VDC, and fails secure when power is not available.  The electric strike ships with the latch keeper all the way in for optimal snug installation, but is equipped with 1/8" of horizontal (front-to-back) adjustability to offset any issues that may still be present after ensuring level and plumb installation (door posts should be checked for plumb and level upon tightening/securing all hardware and anchors). Full installation instructions as well as some helpful tips are shipped with your electric strike or can be emailed in advance of your next order.  Sales literature on all of our door lock options will be available soon.  Continue to check back with the SGP Spotlight for updates.

Flexible Lock Options for SG2000 Wire Partitions

25. October 2010 11:43

Standard mortise-style cylinder locks designed for wire partitions work in many cases; however, there are limits to the core and handle types available.  Architects and contractors often prefer to match keyed locks to other existing locks throughout a new commercial or residential building when using security enclosures.  These limitations caused expensive options to be developed in the past to meet the needs of a specific construction project.

SpaceGuard is pleased to announce its Universal Lock option in SG2000 wire mesh and expanded metal partitions to end these limitations.  The heavy-duty 10" x 12" lockbox is welded into the door frame and accepts any 2-3/4" backset lock with a 1/2" throw.  Lock options are available in IC housing, and now security enclosures can be ADA compliant when offering lever handles on both sides of a wire mesh swing gate.

The adjustable latch receiver now available on all SG2000 wire enclosures offers plenty of adjustability in the field for the latch to catch properly.  Typical locksets are available at most hardware stores or can be provided upon request by SpaceGuard ProductsContact SpaceGuard today for more information.  Sales literature on all of our lock options is currently being developed and will be available online soon.
