SpaceGuard Products is happy to announce that we have made adding our architectural data into your upcoming project's specifications easier than ever.  Our Architectural Specifications are now available in the Construction Specifications Institute's (CSI) accepted 3-part format.  We have started the process by offering this format for our three brands of wire mesh partitions under Section 10605 (Section 10 22 13 under MasterFormat 2004) and will continue down the line with our wire mesh lockers and other area guarding products.

We have unique product offerings such as our 2180 welded wire partitions that offers the sleakest design in the industry.  Not only does this product line offer unmatched ease of installation, but it is perfect for high traffic, visible areas within your facility.  Our polyester powder coat finish will also allow you to match other high quality products from shelving to electrical enclosures.  Our durable finish won't require years of touch-up and maintenance like enamel based products. 

Additional information including our specifications and AutoCAD details (e.g., panel and post connections) are being added to ARCAT's database of architectural resources.

As a manufacturer of security enclosures, wire mesh lockers, and area guarding, SpaceGuard Products has not needed to seek nor obtain LEED building construction or design credit of certification.  However, our products primarily consist of steel.  After its useful product life steel is recycled back in to another steel product, truly making it a "green" material.  As a result, the use of wire partitions and lockers on your project(s) do help to achieve LEED certification.  The credits that apply to our product are as follows:

LEED Category: Materials & Resources Credit 4: Recycled Content

Credit 4.1 (1 point)  "Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% (based on cost) of the total value of the materials in the project."  After a survey of our suppliers, we have determined that at least 43% of the wire mesh partitions, lockers and area guarding products produced at our facility is post-consumer content well above the 10% required under this credit even with variances in the bill of materials used.

Credit 4.2 (1 point)  "Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 20% of the total value of the materials in the project."  Again, even with slight variances in the bill of materials used in your project, our wire mesh products consist of at least 43% post-consumer content.

SpaceGuard is also committed to continuous improvement in our manufacturing and administration processes that are environmentally safe and friendly.  We actively recycle many items ranging from steel to paper.  We also believe that our state-of-the-art polyester powder coat system is environmentally superior to enamel paint lines and in-house galvanizing processes.  The system reuses unused powder in a self-reclamation process.  We also strongly recommend that our customers recycle our wood pallets and crates after receipt of your order.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building certification system is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high performance, sustainable buildings.  The program was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council to promote and implement environmentally responsible means for residential and commercial construction.

SpaceGuard Products' polyester powder coat system offers a durable, lasting finish unlike other wire mesh products on the market that use an enamel based finish.  While the powder coat adequately protects the steel in most environments, SpaceGuard has expanded its available finishes to include galvanized in order to meet certain architectural specifications under MasterFormat section 10 22 13.  SpaceGuard has partnered up with Valmont Coatings and their state-of-the-art, hot dip galvanizing facilities in nearby Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Hot dip galvanizing is offered in both the SG2000 woven and welded wire partitions upon request and will add roughly 2 weeks to standard lead times.  All materials will be galvanized in accordance with ASTM A123/A 123M-97a specifications.  Contact our sales team to learn more about the benefits of our polyester powder coat and optional galvanized finishes today.
